Barcelona striker, Robert Lewandowski has denied leaving German side, Bayern Munich after the team tried to sign his goal rival, Erling Haaland.
Lewandowski forced a move to Barcelona after refusing to renew his contract at Bayern Munich with just one season left. The Polish national even advised the club to let him go or risk loosing him for free next season.
Days after he joined his new Spanish side, rumors saying he was eager to leave after feeling disappointed because Bayern Munich tried to sign Erling Haaland.
Reacting to this, Robert Lewandowski said he wasn’t scared nor disappointed about Bayern Munich approach to Haaland as he loves and welcome competitions. But his decision to leave Bayern Munich was simply because he wants to fulfill a dream.
“I didn’t leave because Bayern tried to sign Erling Haaland. That wasn’t a problem for me. I left because I wanted to fulfill a dream. That is it. Why else would I leave a club like Bayern if other than to pursue a dream I do not run away from competition.”
Both Lewandowski and Haaland are no longer in the German Bundesliga, as Lewandowski is now with Barcelona and Haaland with Manchester City in the Premier League.
Barcelona is yet to register there newly signed players due to their financial situation and La Liga resumes it’s season today. Doubts still surrounds the possibilities of Lewandowski and other new players.
