Liverpool managed to emerge victorious against Newcastle United last night, courtesy of a late winning goal from Fabio Carvalho in the 98th minute.
Newcastle took the lead in the first half at Anfield through club record signing Alexander Isak, who gave a superb finish after put through on goal by Sean Longstaff.
However, Jurgen Klopp’s men levelled the scores at 1-1 through Brazilian forward, Roberto Firmino.
But the late scenes at Anfield started when after 5 minutes of added time, the referee still didn’t end the game but allowed a late corner from Liverpool to stand.
The ensuing corner kick caused a moment of tussle in the Newcastle box, before 20-year-old Carvalho fired in a shot, which resulted in a winning goal.
