5 Football Stars you didn’t know were actors

Football is the most watched sport in the world but there are some prominent football stars and legends who starred in movies.

1. Ian Wright

The Arsenal Legend and Premier League Hall of Famer starred in the movies ‘The Kitchen’, ‘Ted Lasso’ and also ‘The Real McCoy’ of 1991. Ian Wright is currently an English Television and Radio personality.

2. Eric Cantona

Eric Cantona retired from football so early at the age of 30 and since then he became an actor, appearing in several movies and TV series.

Some movies he has acted in are: Elizabeth 1998, The Traveller, The Inhuman Resources and many others.
Despite retiring at the age of 30, Eric Cantona was inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame class of 2021.

3. Carlo Anceloti

You must be surprised to see Carlo Anceloti on this list.
Carlo Anceloti is currently the Head Coach of Spanish club Real Madrid, but he is also an actor, known for ‘The World of Don Camillo (1984)’ and ‘L’allenatore nel pallone 2’.

4. Neymar Jr

French club PSG megastar Neymar Jr, is also becoming a megastar in movies, acting in the popular Netflix movie ‘Money Heist’ also starring in ‘xXx Return of Xander Cage’, ‘Carrossel’ and many others.
Neymar Jr is a Brazilian legend and he is still playing football at top level.

5. Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a Swedish professional footballer, currently playing for Italian club AC Milan and the Sweden National Team.
He produced his own movie in 2021, titled ‘I am Zlatan’ and also acted in the movie ‘The Silk Road’.

The 41-year old Swedish footballer has revealed he will move to full time acting when he retires from football.
