CF Montreal attacker’s unbelievable miss versus Inter Miami in an MLS on Sunday has left everyone scratching their heads.

Inter Miami had to do without Messi in their MLS clash with CF Montreal on Sunday. The Argentine was not in the squad and could only look on as Inter Miami’s defensive frailties were exposed.

Messi missed the game as a caution

CF Montreal attacker with an unbelievable miss

Montreal attacker Matías Coccaro failed to score after a long ball from the back caught out the Inter Miami backline. Inter Miami goalkeeper completely misjudged the flight of the ball as he came to clear with his head. He missed his header and allowed Coccaro through on goal. With the angle slightly unfavorable, Coccaro elected cut inside but by then Inter Miami defenders already recovered. He then attempted to shrug them off by going one way, and then the other before getting his shot off. His shot took a deflection and looped away for a corner which CF Montreal would eventually score from.

Jordi Alba made it 3-2 with a belter from the edge of the box and the score line remained that way.

The result consigned Inter Miami to their first defeat of the season. They have now failed to win any of their last two games after they came from behind to draw against Nashville in their last outing. Inter would look to reap the rewards of resting their stars in the return leg of their Concacaf Champions league match against Nashville on Thursday. And they will need the Ballon d’or winner fit and firing to stand a chance.
