Former Liverpool captain and English pundit, has revealed he wants Lionel Messi to cement his status as football Greatest Of All Time with winning the World Cup.

The 2022 World Cup would be Lionel Messi’s last and many football lovers want to see the seven time Ballon d’OR winner place his hands on the world most prestigious trophy.

Messi came close to winning the World in 2014 but alongside his teammates fell short of Mario Gotze extra time strike, giving Germany the win at Rio de Janeiro.

The latest is English pundit, Jamie Carragher who said he wants Lionel Messi to win the trophy just to cement his status as GOAT.

Even Qatar World Cup organizers wants Messi to lift the trophy on their soil. Hassan Al Thawadi, Secretary General of the World Cup Delivery and Legacy Committee said;

“Seeing Messi lift the trophy in what could be his last World Cup would be something really special for us as organizers. Let’s say that if Argentina and Qatar win their respective groups, the two teams could face each other at the quarter-final stage.

“The Argentine team is on an incredible run at the moment and comes into the competition as one of the favorites. There are many fans of Argentina and Leo Messi in Qatar, and, for many, Argentina will probably be their second team after the Qatar team.”
