Manchester United is one of the biggest team in the English Premier League but they have suffered humiliating losses on rare occasions.

On Sunday March 5th, Manchester United recorded it’s worst lost in the Premier League after falling short 7-0 to a Liverpool side at Anfield. Before this, another humiliating 6-1 loss in the hands of Manchester City held this record.

The latest Manchester United loss came as a big shock to the team who have been in a run of outstanding form. Winning every game and scoring lots of goals since returning from the World Cup break in December 2022.

Marcus Rashford have been the best goalscorer in 2023 and was already projected in the talks of being a Ballon d’OR favorite. His presence couldn’t inspire Manchester United a win.

5. Chelsea 5 – 0 Manchester United

Oct. 3, 1999, Stamford Bridge.

Manchester United saw their 29 games unbeaten beaten run come to an end in the hands of Chelsea who treated them to a 5 goals  feast at Stamford Bridge.

Brace from Poyet, and single goals from Chris Sutton gave Chelsea a 3 goal lead before Henning Berg scored an own goal past his own goalkeeper to take the tally to 4-0.

Jody Morris made it a wrap after scoring the 5th goal of the day. That humiliating loss was Manchester United second loss of that season.

4. Southampton 6 – 3 Manchester United

Manchester United’s Roy Keane was sent off 20 minutes into the match that was just after Eyal Berkovic gave the home team the lead.

Egil Ostenstad scored a hat trick, Berkovic scored a brace and Matt Le Tissier re-enacted Newcastle’s Philip Albert’s lob—a majestic chip over Peter Schmeichel.
