Brentford striker, Ivan Toney have been handed eight months ban from all football related activities after he was found guilty of betting.
The Englishman was diagnosed with betting addiction after breaking Football Association betting rules.
Toney is said to have made 16 bets on his own team to win 15 different games and 13 bets on his own team to lose in 7 different matches – (Did not play in any of these)
Reacting to his suspension, the Ivan Toney said; “I’ll speak soon with no filter.” He also uploaded a write-up on his Instagram.
Brentford manager, Thomas Frank has expressed his discomfort if he won’t be able to see Toney during his suspension.
“Football and gambling’s relationship needs a review. We got a massive reminder. Do we do enough to educate our players? The authorities have a massive task to make sure we do this much better.
“If I can’t speak to him, I guess they will have to ban me as well. If I am not allowed to support him there must be something wrong.”
Toney is said to have made $10 million from sport betting since 2017.
