Arsenal fans haunt Richarlison online for missing out on Brazil’s Copa America squad to injury.
The Spurs striker missed out of Brazil’s latest squad for the Copa America set to take place next month.
However, though not a surprise, Gabriel Maghalaes makes the squad much to the delight of Arsenal supporters.
There is room for another Arsenal player in Martinelli, joined by Raphinha, Rodrygo, and Vinicius Jr as the prominent attackers in the squad.
Teenage sensation Endrick also makes the squad, so does Girona’s Savinho.
Arsenal Fans have now taken the opportunity to mock the spurs star, although he misses out due to an injury.
One fan commented on @now.arsenal‘s post saying:
“Richarlison deserves this humbling.”
Some fans however leapt to his defense, citing injury as the reason for him missing out.
One fan replied, “He’s injured”, along with a crying emoji.
Another tried to get back to the Arsenal fan, saying:
“Jesus didn’t even get selected and he’s fit to play.”
The Arsenal fans were not having it however, with one having a come back to Richarlison’s injury defense.
“He’s still a bum and won’t play”, one fan commented.
Another added: “What goes around comes around,so be humble”, along with a winking emoji.
How it started
Last month, Richarlison liked and reposted a TikTok post calling Gabriel Maghaeles Brazil’s last choice defender. The post referred to Richarlison as Brazil’s first choice striker and Gabriel as Brazil’s last choice defender.
The post showed Richarlison going head to head in Arsenal’s recent win over Tottenham Hotspur in the EPL.
Fans reacted to the Brazilian’s online antics on X soon after.
One fan commented: Brazil first choice striker could not score against Brazil last choice defender.
“Probably why Brazil doesn’t win much these days”, another fan replied.
One fan added a picture comparing both players’ scoring stats, before adding:
“Brazil’s first choice striker has scored less goals than Brazil’s last choice defender”
