Bayern Munich make Roberto De Zerbi Prime managerial candidate; Club prepared to activate release clause

Bayern have made De Zerbi their prime managerial candidate to succeed Thomas Tuchel.

The Brighton manager threw his future at Brighton in doubt with his comments after his side’s 2-1 loss at Anfield. He said:

“I am lucky because I have a clear idea and in my life and I decide always what I want to do. I will speak with Tony and the club and we will find a solution together without problems but I know my future and what I want.”

De Zerbi stated that he is not in real talks to leave the club at the end of the season. But he insisted on the need to have a clear plan ahead of next season with regards to Brighton’s ambition.

De Zerbi links with Barcelona and Liverpool

De Zerbi is on Liverpool’s shopping list of managerial candidates and it’s not a surprise considering the excellent work he has done at the club since his arrival.

Barcelona also have him on their list as they seek a replacement for Xavi who announced he would be stepping down from his position.
