Three years later, Bayern Munich celebrates 8-2 win over Barcelona

In August 2020, Bayern Munich disgraced Barcelona to a 8-2 win at their Camp Nou stadium in Spain. A lost that could pass to be the most horrible in the club history.

Barcelona hosted Bayern Munich in the quarter final of the Champions League. The clash between the arch rivals was thought to be a loggerhead but took a different turn after Bayern Munich heartlessly walked upon their opponent.

The German team dominated the match from start to finish. Scoring four in the first half and another four in the second half. Barca only felt a revival after David Alaba scored an own goal. Luis Suarez was the only Barcelona player on target in the entire 90 minute of the match.

Thomas Muller, a nightmare to Barcelona opened the scoring in just 4 minute into the match, three minutes before Alaba’s own goal. He scored his second and Bayern Munich fourth goal in the 31st minute. Now Tottenham Hotspur player, Ivan Perisic scored Bayern Munich second goal of the night in the 21st minute. Serge Gnabry scored the third six minute later in the 27th minute.

Barcelona opened the scoring in the second half with Luis Suarez in the 57th minute. Bayern Munich responded through Joshua Kimmich in the 63rd minute, before Robert Lewandowski scored his future team in the 82nd minute. Barcelona flop, Coutinho found a perfect 15 minute form after he was introduce and scored a brace in the 85th and 89th minute.

Three years down the line, Bayern Munich recalled their elite display in Spain and are decided to celebrate in a tweet.

Bayern Munich went on to win the Champions League that year.

Bayern Munich will face Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes in their Champions League round of sixteen clash on 14th February, 2023, while Barcelona face Manchester United in the round of 32 of UEFA Europa League.
