Watkins joins Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice, Cole Palmer, Alexander Isak, Erling Haaland and Virgil van Dijk in POTS nomination.
His performances this season, though not heralded as they should be, have been nothing short of extraordinary.
Watkins has bagged 19 Premier League goals excluding penalties, a tally that is only behind Haaland and Palmer. The latter duo however have netted 15 goals from the penalty spot between them, with Palmer accounting for nine. Watkins also leads the log for assists, racking up 12, an indication that his all round game has improved immensely.

Apparently, Ollie Watkins is a huge fan of Taylor Swift and so, his girlfriend has been trying to get fans of Taylor Swift to support him.
A Villa supporter on X, who is also a fan of Swift, also touted the player’s interests on the app. The supporter attempted to get followers of the singer to vote for Watkins, tweeting:

The Villa supporter added an photoshopped picture of Ollie Watkins and the pop singer to support the post.
Watkins’ girlfriend Ellie Alderson retweeted the post in support of her boyfriend.
