I learnt the value of money – Benjamin Mendy on lesson he learnt from prison

Manchester City right back, Benjamin has recounted his time in prison and the lessons he learnt.

Benjamin Mendy alongside his friend, Louis Saha were accused of rape and was made to serve prison terms.

The world cup winner saw eight count charges placed on him with the accuser stating it all happened between 2018 and 2021.

Months after being arrested and sent to prison, Mendy was found not guilty of the charges placed against him.

Since his return from prison, Mendy has stayed off the media as he looks to rebuild his already broken career.

Speaking for the first time since he tasted freedom again, Mendy said, you only “think” when you’re in prison.

He reminisced on how he went from getting whatever he wants to being subjected to just £4 per day.

In prison you don only one thing: Think. I had £4 a day, I spent it in the canteen. In my life before, I could have anything I wanted. I was sad in prison, but I learnt a lot of things.

Benjamin Mendy is yet to return to the pitch since his release from prison and would be spectating France (his country) from the comfort of his home.
