Rodrigo Bentancur’s reaction after being substituted versus Manchester City is every Arsenal fan after the goal went in

Rodrigo Bentancur’s reaction after coming off versus Manchester City in the second half was dramatic to say the least.

Ange Postecoglu opted to bring off the midfielder shortly after City went ahead in game through a close range effort from Haaland.

He has already picked up a yellow card in the first half for a crunching challenge on Foden, otherwise he did little wrong.

Foden burst through the flanks before sending in a cross that evaded everyone. The stray ball found Bernardo Silva who played in Debruyne, with the Belgian just inside. He bundled to Haaland to tuck home few minutes to the hour mark.

The goal spoils all the hard work that Tottenham did in the first half to keep City at bay and room to attack themselves.

Bentancur's reaction

It’s a long way up for Tottenham to get back into the game against this Manchester City side without leaving room to be exposed.

Maybe Tottenham won’t care considering it’s Arsenal who have the most to lose from the game. Plus, they play a high line that already leaves them very much at the risk of being caught out.

The heart of every Arsenal fan must have sunk to see Haaland’s effort hit the back of the net. And their reactions probably would have been the same as Rodrigo’s when he went off.

The midfielder stormed to the bench and proceeded to kick the chair, and throw a bottle before settling down.

There is still time for Tottenham to grab an equalizer with half an hour (including added time) to go.
