Bournemouth complete astonishing comeback versus relegation threatened Luton

A rearranged Premier League fixture has seen Bournemouth complete an incredible second half come back versus Luton Town.

Luton Town were mired in a relegation battle prior to the encounter. This game versus Bournemouth was an opportunity to give themselves a chance in the battle for survival.

They looked set to do that, racing into a three goal lead in the first half. Goals from Chong, Ogbene and Barkley ensured they were on the way to three precious points. They looked set to capitalize on their game in hand over their relegation rivals but Bournemouth had other ideas.

A “different” Bournemouth team returned to face Luton in the second half. Goals from Solanke, Zabarnyi and Semenyo saw Bournemouth complete an incredible second half come back.

Solanke pulled a goal back five minutes into the restart. Ten minutes later Zabarnyi and Semenyo netted within two minutes of each other to level the score line. Antoine Semenyo netted his second of the evening to turn the match around and hand Bournemouth all three points.

The defeat throws Luton’s survival hopes into serious jeopardy with just ten games left of the season. It also dampens a day that started brightly after centre back  Tom Lockyer returned to the stadium.

The center back collapsed on the pitch in December after suffering a cardiac arrest during the initial meeting between the two sides.

The match rescheduled for today saw him return to thank the medics responsible for saving his life.
