Chelsea defensive midfielder, Andrey Santos wins Golden Boot at South American u20 Championships

Chelsea new boy, Andrey Santos was in a ridiculous scoring form for Brazil at the South American u20 Championships, winning the golden boot despite being a defensive midfielder.

Just after completing his mover from Vasco da Gama to English top flight team, Chelsea, Andrey Santos was called upon to represent Brazil at the South American Championships, emerging the captain of the team.

Santos found his scoring boot at the competition and immediately began to overshadow strikers in the goal chart despite being a defensive midfielder.

With one goal behind his fellow Brazilian, Victor Roque, Andrey Santos scored a header to give Brazil a crucial lead in the final against Uruguay in the 84th minute.

Brazil where able to find one more goal through Pedrinho, killing the hope of Uruguay struggles for an equalizer. The match ended 2-0 in favour of Brazil u20 team as they were named Champions.

18-year-old Andrey Santos and 17-year-old Victor Roque were awarded the golden boot for being the highest goal scorer of the competition, with both player having a joint goal record of 6 goals each.

It becomes the first time a defensive midfielder is winning a golden boot award.
