Crystal Palace and West Ham are monitoring the situation of Eddie Nkethia at Arsenal ahead of the summer.
Nkethia has found game time difficult to come by this season with Jesus and Havertz the preferred options. It’s been Leandro Trossard at times leading the line, proving that Arteta does not trust the Englishman.
Nkethia has started only on 13 occasions despite making 32 appearances in all competitions. He is so far having to make do with a bit part role as the club try to mount a sustained title challenge.
Arsenal transfer plans
Arsenal have been linked with a move for a striker when the transfer window reopens in the summer. Mikel Arteta confirmed that the Gunners will try to bring a striker through the doors at Arsenal.
Such news surely spells doom for Nkethia who must now be considering his options for the summer.
If that is the case, then he will be pleased to know he is not short of suitors. Eddie Nkethia for long has tried to prove he can cut his teeth at a big side like Arsenal if given the opportunity. It looks like that opportunity will never come and he may have to take that step down if he is to find consistent playing time.
Crystal Palace and West Ham are monitoring the situation of Eddie Nkethia at Arsenal and will be more than happy to take him. Crystal Palace especially have been credited with having a firm interest in the player.
He has proven he knows where the back of the net is recording 11 and 9 goal contributions in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons respectively.
Arsenal’s stance about a possible transfer
Arteta will not stand in Eddie Nkethia’s way should he choose to leave to find playing time. Any interested club will have to play his release clause though, set at a region of €35-40m.
Any sale would be directed towards funding a move for a big name striker ahead of next season. Arsenal already considering a few options with the like of Gyökeres and Toney been mooted.
What next for Eddie Nkethia?
Eddie Nkethia is currently training with the rest of the Arsenal squad who missed out of the international break.
He will be hoping his fortunes can improve as Arsenal’s season promises to sizzle towards the end.
