Dani Alves was my childhood idol – Joao Cancelo

Manchester City right back, Joao Cancelo has revealed, veteran Barcelona right back, Dani Alves was his idol while growing up as a child.

Joao Cancelo is currently been rate as one of the best right back in the Premier League alongside Liverpool’s Alexander Arnold and Chelsea’s Reece James.

Joao Cancelo came into Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City team from Juventus after a swap deal with Danilo. Cancelo’s versatility makes him able to play from both right and left flank.

The Portuguese player said in his view, Dani Alves is the best fullback ever. Saying he’s Dani fan in the works he does on the pitch and also his free nature of relating with other players. Joao said he hopes to meet with Dani soonest.

“In my position, my childhood idol is Dani Alves. He is, in my opinion, the best full-back ever. I’m a huge fan of his work, I am a fan of what he does on the pitch but also of the sense of freedom with which he plays.”

“I love him as a player. I’ve never met him, but I’d love to. I think that sooner or later we’ll get to meet each other. I’m sure we’d have a great conversation!”

Dani Alves returned to Barcelona during the club’s financial crisis to help the team stand through. At the time, Dani Alves had played five matches having four goals involvements.
