Chelsea took on Palmerias in the final of the 2022 Club World Cup, goal from Lukaku put Chelsea in front in the second half. It took not less than 12 minutes for Palmerias to find an equalizer. Going into extra time, Havertz converted a penalty in just 3 minutes of time left.
Mendy joined Chelsea team directly from Senegal, after winning the African Cup Of Nations. Standing in as the goalkeeper in the final, the 29-year-old won a second trophy in less than a week.
The Club World Cup trophy sets a new record for the Senegalese shot stopper, making him win a trophy on an average of every 21 games since he signed for Chelsea from Rennes.
