FIFA considering new ‘Game Clock’ rule in football

FIFA are now considering a new ‘Game Clock’ rule that would see game time get paused when ball goes out of play in football, to reduce time wastage.

This is coming after FIFA instructed fourth officials to keep track of time to combat time-wasting at the 2022 World Cup. This saw the competition produce the longest games ever played in a single competition.

The International Football Association Board meeting will be held in London the following weekend, where the possibilities of the new rule will be discussed.
