3 footballers missing from Turkey’s earthquake

An unextimated number people are reportedly trapped in rubble after an earthquake of 7.4 magnitude hit Turkish city of Kahramanmaras. A number of footballers are reported to be missing and yet to be found.

Tearful messages are been sent around since the disaster that left nobody under it’s reach out. Young, old and even babies are still trapped under the rubble. The earthquake traveled across Turkey and Syria. Over 3400 people are reported dead and a further 6000 people severely injured.

Turkish football club, Hatayspor has the highest number of footballers and staffs from it’s team still trapped under the deadly rubble. Wife of Hatayspor manager, Volkan Demirel shared a sad message after the team’s goalkeeper was reported to be trapped under the rubble and yet to be found.

Here are three (3) players/football still missing from the Turkey’s earthquake;

1. Christian Atsu: Former Newcastle United player, Christian Atsu is yet to be found as reported by Hatayspor manager after false rumors about the Ghanaian being found alive was reported by a number of news reporters. Atsu had played for both Chelsea and Newcastle before leaving the Premier League. He now plays for Hatayspor, in the city of Hatay, one of city affected the most by the earthquake. After claims of him being found and receiving treatment in a hospiltal, his teammate, Kerim Alici and club coach denied the claims.

2. Ahmet Turkaslan: Yeni Malatyaspor goalkeeper, Ahmet Turkaslan is reported to still be missing and under the rubble after the ugly incident. Per Haber Global, players of Yeni Malatyaspor might have lodged in a hotel affected by the aftermath of the earthquake. While most players of the team were pulled out, Ahmet Turkaslan is yet to be found. The team shared a messaged that reads;

“We wish God’s mercy on our citizens who lost their lives in the earthquake that occurred in Kahramanmaraş and felt in our city, and we wish a quick recovery to our injured citizens.”

3. Taner Savut: Hatayspor club director, Taner Savut is also still missing as a result of the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that hit some of Turkey, with Hatay inclusive. Club President are sharing continously sharing updates about the intending rescue of Taner Savet.

Search and rescue team are on duty looking for the missing footballers as well as rescuing others who got stucked as a result of the earthquake. Hospital, hotels, schools and many more are reported to have been destroyed from the effect of the earthquake.

A shocked of about 7.8 magnitude was felt hours after the first earthquake occured, further putting lives of the inhabitants of Turkey and Syria at risk.
