Former Arsenal and Chelsea forward said to join Los Angeles FC at the end of his contract

Los Angeles FC are in advanced talks with Olivier Giroud about joining them in the summer. The former Arsenal and Chelsea forward is set to join LAFC when his contract expires in the summer.

The 37 year old has made 36 appearances for AC Milan in all competitions, starting 31 times. He keeps delivering the goods for the Milan outfit and already has 23 goal contributions in all competitions.

In fact since he became a first team regular 19 years ago, he has only scored less than ten goals a season in 6 seasons.

Reliable sources report that the former Arsenal and Chelsea forward is set to join LAFC, ending his time Europe’s top 5 leagues.

Looking ahead

In the mean time, AC Milan will retain his services until the end of the season at least as nothing is confirmed yet. There are still doubts as to whether they will be able afford his services.

Stefano Pioli’s side are still competing in the Europa league where they have been drawn against Roma. They still retain slim title hopes despite being 14 points behind city rivals Inter.

Giroud will hope he can end the season with silverware as he draws the curtains on his top flight career.

If Giroud joins LAFC, he would reunite with fellow French international Hugo Lloris who joined the MLS side in December.

The former Tottenham goal keeper has already had a rough welcome to the league since he joined. He described one of the matches that he played as one of the worst conditions he has ever played in.
