Guardiola lays into Jack Grealish at the full time whistle of City’s drab 0-0 draw with Arsenal

Guardiola appeared to lay into Jack Grealish after Manchester City’s drab draw with Arsenal. The forward came on just past the hour mark and failed to make anything of note happen for his side.

The much anticipated match was reduced to a cagey, dour affair especially for neutrals. Arsenal were content with keeping City at arms length all through the contest and succeeded, much to Arteta’s delight.

His side managed to restrict Manchester City to just one shot on target and was enthused by his team’s performance.

“I think we had the best situations. We were really aggressive at times and getting the ball into great areas. The way we competed individually and as a team was phenomenal.”

Guardiola won’t be pleased with those comments as it is in fact spot on from the Gunners boss. Arsenal are the only side to force a shut out from Manchester City at the Etihad in 57 games.

Both sides needed to win to stay ahead in the title race but a point looks like a win from an Arsenal point of view.

The Gunner’s backline kept the likes of Debruyne and Haaland shackled in a fixture where they have suffered over the years.

Guardiola’s injury stricken side would have been dreaming of a victory here but his side were to be denied. The frustrations indeed showed in the Manchester City boss’s end of the game antics. Guardiola appeared to lay into Jack Grealish after the Englishman failed to get a change out of the Arsenal defenders.

Manchester City now sit three points off Liverpool at the top, and one point behind Arsenal in second.
