Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand has said Chelsea attacking midfielder, Kai Havertz has scored the two most important goals in the club history.

Chelsea played Brazilian team, Palmerias in the World Club Cup final in Abu Dhabi, defeating them 2-1 in extra time.

Kai Havertz rose to take what could pass as the most decisive penalty kick in his career, with just three minutes left in extra time.

Cool headed, Havertz converted the penalty, giving Chelsea their first ever Club World Cup win, just as he did with his effort in the Champions League final.

Havertz goals in the Champions League and Club World Cup final has established the German as a big game player for the London club.

Rio Ferdinand has hailed the ‘Silky German’ as he is fondly called, saying he’s paid up the €70m he was bought with and his goals in the finals are the two most important goals in Chelsea history.

“He (Havertz) doesn’t have to kick a ball ever again in a Chelsea shirt, he’s repaid the £70m price tag now. He’s scored two of the biggest goals in the history of the club. Don’t have to do no more!”

For the first time in Chelsea history, the club won the UEFA Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup.
