I don’t spend money to win titles – Jose Mourinho

Jose Mourinho is no doubt one of the greatest managers of all time if not the greatest!
Prospering in the Liga Primeira of Portugal, Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, UEFA Europa
League, UEFA Champions League and even the newly launched UEFA Europa Conference
League.

Currently at AS Roma, he has carried them to back to back European competition finals!
Jose Mourinho is very brilliant at transfers and decision making.
In his first season at AS Roma, he was supported a little by the board, they splashed about
€85m on transfers, buying Tammy Abraham and also Rui Patrico with both signings proving to
be significant. They signed other players like Matias Vina, Shomurodov etc. In that season, AS
Roma finished 6th and won the first edition of the UEFA Europa Conference League!

In that season, they didn’t regret buying Tammy Abraham from Chelsea for £34m. He scored 17
goals in the Serie A and was the club’s highest goal scorer. AS Roma brought Rui Patrico for
about €12m and he was pivotal in their 2021/22 success.

Now, this season, Jose Mourinho showcased his masterclass again spending less than €10m in
the summer and winter transfer window combined! He brought Belotti, Celik, Camara,
Solbakken, Diego Llorente, Gini Wijnaldum, Nemanja Matic and Paulo Dybala spending less
than €10m.

The signings proved to be good business for Jose Mourinho with AS Roma in the Europa
League final and also in the fight for a Top 4 finish!
Never doubt Mourinho even when he seems to be in a less-good club! He is about to win his
second trophy for AS Roma in just 2 seasons!
Jose Mourinho brought Tammy Abraham for £34m and they have put a £100m price tag on the
English striker with teams having interest in him.
