Brighton striker, Joao Pedro scored the team’s first-ever goal in European football on Thursday, making history for the club as they host AEK Athens.
30 minutes into their first ever European game, the Seagulls and their Greek visitors were tied when the Brazilian attacker stepped up to score an equalizer from the penalty spot. Early in the game, Roberto De Zerbi’s team had been down by a goal.
The visitors took the lead again later in the first half. Midway through the second half, Pedro scored another penalty to restore parity for second time, but Ezequiel Ponce’s 84th-minute goal gave the visitors the victory.
