John Terry to replace Graham Potter as Chelsea boss

Chelsea legend, John Terry is set to replace Graham Potter as Chelsea new head coach five months after the Englishman switched from Brighton.

Graham Potter have failed to live up to the expectation believed by many after he took over from Thomas Tuchel who was just experiencing a slow-down after a successful season.

Potter was given a 5 years contract at Stamford Bridge. Despite had a nice start to life at Chelsea, going unbeaten in his first 9 games. After several slack, Graham Potter gained the trust of Chelsea new ownerships and strengthened with new players. These new inclusions have so far proven not to be enough to put the club back to it’s winning ways.

Chelsea ownership provoked by the club position are now considering to relief Graham Potter of his job. Though lot’s of A-class football manager are being linked, it is believed the Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali ownership would pick club legend, John Terry.

John Terry first predicted the appointment of Graham Potter while the tactician was still a Brighton manager. John Terry twitted;

“How good is Graham Potter?

“I love how Brighton play and he has to be one of the best young managers around. Ticks every box for me.”

The appointment of Graham Potter followed few months after his tweet. However, John Terry denied having a hand in the sack of Thomas Tuchel and appointment of Graham Potter.

After Chelsea’s 1-1 draw at home to West Ham United, John Terry called out Potter over the club’s run of poor form, opting that Chelsea needs a settled team.

“Clearly results are not good enough and we need to get a settled team.”

John Terry is the coach of Chelsea u18 and u21 teams. JT was also the assistant coach of Aston Villa before returning to Chelsea to take charge of the youth teams. The ownership believes John Terry understands the club better and with his success at the youth level, it’s okay if he takes over the first team.

No public annoucements have been made as plans are still getting checked into their proper places.
