The decision to quit doesn’t come as a surprise to many Nigerian football enthusiasts though. The football loving nation has described his time with the Super Eagles as below average despite his recent achievement.

Nigerians have cited his failure to qualify for the 2022 world cup, missing out to Ghana as a massive fail on his part.

Many went as far as  destroying stadium after failing to qualify for 2022 World Cup.

They also criticized his rather defensive style as he failed to capitalize on Nigeria’s abundant attacking talent.

Although he managed to guide Nigeria to the final of the 2023 AFCON which they lost 2-1 to hosts Ivory coast, Nigerians insist he won’t be missed.

Comments have flooded in on X as Jose Peseiro resigns as Nigeria’s head coach. User FUTURIST insisted his decision is good riddance for Nigeria.

Read some of the comments below:

“Good Riddance!

That AFCON run was a fluke. Lost too many games in friendlies and qualifies, wack tactics, poor substitutions, lack of in game management”.

Another user echoed similar sentiments, saying that “His pattern is wack, just got some lucky game changer in that team”.

One user was less indictive though, saying that Nigeria deserves a better coach but Peseiro deserves his flowers.

Both Nigeria and Peseiro would hope that fortunes improve from here as they both go their separate ways.
