Juventus have joined the race to sign Arteta’s top midfield target for the summer

Real Soceidad midfield lynchpin Martin Zubimendi has received offers from both Arsenal and Juventus. Real Sociedad are, however, still adamant about clubs having to pay the player’s full release-clause. Zubimendi is Arsenal’s top midfield target ahead of the opening of the transfer window this summer.

Arteta will do all it takes to seal a move for one of Arsenal’s top midfield target for the summer. The Gunners will do all it takes to land their target and a prepared to launch a swap proposal.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to Arsenal since Arteta became their manager but any move have proven to be elusive. This is because the Spanish midfielder did not have any interest in leaving Real Soceidad.

Zubimendi has been at Real Soceidad since he was 13 and insists that his loyalty lie with his childhood club.

Juventus have now jumped into the race to sign the Spaniard with Barcelona also thought to be interested.

Links to Arsenal for Zubimendi continue to emerge

Zubimendi is also courting transfer interest from Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen but Arsenal might have the edge over their competitors.

Links with another one of his childhood clubs, Antiguoko, may be what hares Zubimendi to Arsenal.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta spent his formative years at Antiguoko and so did Zubimendi’s former manager, Xabi Alonso, who is Arteta’s close friend.

Links to Arsenal have emerged with another approaching window but it appears like Arsenal might be getting their man.

Arsenal’s possible player plus cash proposal to Real Soceidad

Zubimendi is one of Arsenal’s top midfield target and is valued at €60 million euros with Arteta a keen admirer of his countryman.

The two clubs have a strong working relationship having sealed transfers between them in recent years. The most recent transfer is the loan move that took Kieran Tierney to the Spanish club.

Tierney recently stated that he would not be surprised if he returns to Arsenal in the summer.

He however agrees that he might have played his last game for Arsenal, expressing he is open to a move.

The Gunners could prepare a player plus cash proposal to land Zubimendi if all parties are pleased with the deal.
