Pep Guardiola has hinted Brighton and Hove Albion winger, Kaoru Mitoma as the replacement of Riyad Mahrez who moved to Saudi Arabia earlier in the transfer window.
Riyad Mahrez joined Manchester City after being excellent for Leicester City in their unbelievable 2015/2016 season that saw them lift the Premier League.
The Algerian went on to win four more Premier League titles in Manchester City and other trophies that includes the UEFA Champions League. Mahrez spent 5 years with City, adding up to the 4 years he spent at Leicester City before greeting the Premier League goodbye.
The 32-year-old joined the long list of top players in Europe moving to Saudi Arabia. Riyad Karim Mahrez joined Al-Ahli as he looks to tussle against the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane in Al Nassr, not forgetting Karim Benzema and N’golo Kante in Al-Ittihad.
Manchester City have been out in the market looking for the best possible replacement of Riyad Mahrez and have been heavily linked with Crystal Palace player, Olise. However, the team head coach, Pep Guardiola has stylishly reveal the player that would likely be joining City to fill in the vacuum left by Mahrez.
Pep pointed at fast footed Brighton winger, Kaoru Mitoma to be the replacement of Mahrez. Mitoma was one of the most outstanding player in the Premier League last season. The seasoned dribbler get past defenders and easily sets up his teammates to find the back of the net.
Mitoma plays best from the left, same position Jack Grealish owned for City last season. Moving to the Etihad stadium will give Pep more leverages to the left wing as oppose to the right wing.
No official contact has been made yet despite rumored interest. Mitoma is however believed to be happy to accept City if they come knocking. Brighton are likely going to loose goalkeeper Sanchez and midfielder Caicedo, with Chelsea interested in both players.
