Barcelona suffered another embarrassing defeat in the hands of Real Madrid in the El Clasico causing Lewandowski to be tagged “Lewandisney.”
Barcelona went into the first El Clasico of the season with high hopes, wearing Drake’s brand OVO Owl on their jersey.
It took Karim Benzema only 12 minutes to give Real Madrid the lead. Federico Valverde scored the second before Ferran Torres restored hoped for Barcelona taking the scored to 2-1.
Eight minutes after Torres goal, Rodrygo was brought down in the eighteen yard box and converted the penalty, extending the lead to 3-1.
In the course of the match, Robert Lewandowski was man-marked by Eder Militao and was unable to make any remarkable impact in the game except for his assist to Torres.
In a bid to ridicule the Ballon d’OR contender, fans renamed him “Lewandisney” and made it trend online.
The new trend name was initiated with a claim that Lewandowski doesn’t step up for big games.
