Lionel Messi born in Argentina grew up speaking Spanish as his country’s home language or mother-tongue as it is often called. Moving to Spain, he continued with Spanish as it’s the origin of the famous language.
Living most part of his life in Spain, Messi bothered less about learning a new language unlike other footballers who switch clubs to countries with different languages and have to learn these languages to adapt properly in the team.
Messi only have switch from Spain to France when he joined Paris Saint-Germain and outrightly started learning French language.

The host demanded someone to translate what he said in Spanish to ease the understanding of Lionel Messi but surprisingly, Messi then spoke back in English.

Prior to this event, Lionel Messi has always needed a translator to communicate with someone who speaks only English.
