Liverpool leaning towards Roberto De Zerbi to fill their soon to be vacant managerial position

Liverpool leaning towards Roberto De Zerbi to fill their soon to be vacant managerial position

Liverpool to pick between Roberto De Zerbi and Ruben Amorim for managerial position but are leaning towards the Brighton boss.

Jurgen Klopp announced his decision to leave the Liverpool job in late January after 8 years on the job. Since then, many managers have been linked to the soon to be vacant position.

The pole candidate for the job appeared to be Xabi Alonso, but he announced his decision to continue at Bayer Leverkusen.

Liverpool’s attention quickly turned and have started exploring alternatives to the Spanish manager.

Liverpool links to De Zerbi makes so much sense

Liverpool have a good working relationship with the powers that be at Brighton and have overseen many deals with them.

There have been movements between both clubs with Lallana and Milner going to the seagulls and most recently, Mac Allister going the other way.

De Zerbi is on Liverpool’s shopping list of managerial candidates and it’s not a surprise considering the excellent work he has done at the club since his arrival.

He has overseen some brave, wonderful football at the club, with big results to show for it. He has also improved the quality of the players at his disposal while continuing Brighton’s excellent recruitment strategy.

His premier league experience bodes well for Liverpool, driving his charges towards European competition places. De Zerbi’s record against the top sides means he is shoo-in to take on Liverpool and even improve them.

Roberto De Zerbi whatever the cost for Liverpool?

Whether or not De Zerbi will be the man at the Liverpool dug out next season remains to be seen. No one should be forcing Liverpool to pick between Roberto De Zerbi and Ruben Amorim for managerial position. De Zerbi is the perfect man for the job but if it is to happen, Liverpool will have to prise him away from the Amex.

They may have to pay as high as €15 million to release him from his contract at Brighton but if that’s the price, then so be it.
