Mbappe spends over half a million pounds on a painting of Brazilian Pélé at a charity event

Several reports confirmed Mbappé spent over €500k on a painting of Pelé at a charity event on Thursday.

Kylian Mbappé paid made the purchase on Thursday evening, paying the sum of €520,000 for the work.

Alexander Hopare produced the said painting of Pele named “O REI” (the king in Portuguese) in 2023.

Kylian Mbappé fended off other interested parties, including Archaf Hakimi, to land the piece initially priced at €5000.

His buy became the record sale of the charity evening contributing to the 2.7 million euros raised. All the money raised in the event will be donated to charity.

Mbappe will hope someone can pay that much for an art piece of him following a brilliant wax figure of the striker unveiled recently.

Several reports confirmed Mbappé spent over €500k on a painting of Pelé at PSG’s end of the season gala.

Apparently that’s not the only Mbappé is spending on as he is set to buy Sergio Ramos’ mansion.

Mbappé continues to prepare for life in the Spanish capital after announcing his desire to depart PSG.

Mbappe broke the Internet last week when he announced he will be leaving the club at the end of this season.

He spoke in a video posted on social media, saying:

“I’ve always said I would speak to you when this time comes. So I wanted to announce to you all that it’s my last year at Paris Saint-Germain, I will not extend. The adventure will come to an end in a few weeks. It’s a lot of emotions, it’s hard and I never thought it would be this difficult to announce that I am leaving my country, but I think I needed this, a new challenge after seven years.

“PSG is a club that never leaves anyone indifferent, I do not regret at any moment signing with this prestigious club. It’s a club I will keep in my memory my entire life. I won’t be a player anymore but I will continue to always watch every game. I wanted to say thank you because without you all I would never have felt half the emotions I felt. Thank you all, I hope we will finish this year with a last trophy and I believe you will remain in my heart forever.”

Tier one journalist Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that PSG have saved €200m in expenses following Kylian Mbappé’s decision to depart.

The Frenchman has reportedly sought advice from Ramos on settling into life in the Spanish capital.
