Messi would help me to be successful as he is – Kylian Mbappe

Kylian Mbappe has revealed he’s hyped for the next link-up he would have with Lionel Messi. Mbappe and Messi had the a face-off on the biggest stage in football.

Teammates turned temporal enemies at the 2022 World Cup final when Argentina took on France. Messi and Mbappe both lead their teams to the battle of legs and a ball, with Messi’s Argentina coming out as the better team.

Their were fears of possible quarrel between both Paris Saint-Germain players after video footage showed both players taunting each other when their team scores.

Lionel Messi’s led Argentina scored two goals in the first 45 minutes of the match, walking into the second half with high hopes of rounding up the match and walking away with trophy. With just ten minutes of play left, Mbappe picked up his France team after scoring two goals in 90 seconds to bring the match to a tie.

The match went in additional 30 minutes of extra time. Argentina found the back of the net mid into the second 15 minutes of extra time, and Mbappe again equalized from the spots with 4 minutes of play time left.

The match was decided on penalties. Argentina proved to be the superior team by winning the shootout 4-2. Goals from the extra 30 minutes shows when Messi and Mbappe taunted each other after their team celebrations.

In an interview after Kylian Mbappe’s return to France, the player who scored a hat-trick in a World Cup final match revealed their is no bad blood between him and Lionel Messi.

Mbappe said both himself and Lionel Messi were doing the job they had to do in Qatar and he would be received warmly back in France. He added that at club level they have the same goal and Messi would help him be as successful as he is, just as Messi had earlier promised him.

“We will be fine with Leo. Very fine. I scored two penalties and 3rd one. He scored one and the 2nd one.”

“He was doing his job in Qatar and I was doing mine too.”

“At Club level we have same ambitions. And if we work together with him and Neymar… We will do it… very good guys.”

“His job is to help me to be as successful as he is. He told me and I believe in him with all the supply he gives to me and us…”

“He always speaks about it.. ‘That football is easy’ .. If you have noticed I am also making things to look easy… I can’t bite the hand that feeds me because of the media.”

“I’m learning a lot from this old man. We level at 1-1 in terms of world cup,, but he is miles ahead on everything,, my job is to listen to him no matter what.”

Lionel Messi is yet to return to France to resume training with his club. World Cup win celebration and the Christmas holiday holds him back a little more. Paris Saint-Germain coach, Christophe Glatier announced Messi would return to Parc des Princes on 2nd or 3rd of January 2023.
