Mount returns! £55 million signing makes his long awaited return at the right time for Manchester United

The game against Liverpool may see Mount make his long awaited return from a long term injury.  The Englishman suffered a calf injury that saw him miss a large chunk of the season.

Manchester United fans can even be forgiven for forgetting they signed him for Chelsea. His impact for the Red Devils was minimal initially as he struggled to settle in Erik Ten haag’s set up.

Erik Ten Haag announced that the £55 million man is set to make the squad to face Liverpool in the quarter final of the FA cup. The gaffer  announced Mount will be in the squad three days after he returned to full training.

On the game

Manchester United led inside the first fifteen minutes of the first half through McTominay after starting brightly.

They held off Liverpool for much of the remaining 30 minutes of the first half barring an incredible last five minutes. The last five minutes saw goals from MacAllister and Salah which ensured United went into the break behind.

Antony equalized for Manchester United in the 87th minute to send the game into extra time. At the start of the second half of extra time saw Mount make his long awaited return.

Mount will be hoping he can help Man Utd make something out of a potentially average season. If they manage to win the FA cup and qualify for Europe, it can count as a successful season.

Chelsea and Manchester City will be standing in their way as they are also in the hunt. Chelsea beat Leicester to qualify despite an own goal of the season contender from Disasi.
