No regrets letting Aubameyang leave for free – Mikel Arteta

Pierre-Emerick Aubumayang has gone from being a finished Arsenal player to becoming one of the finest striker in Europe following his revitalized form for FC Barcelona after his switch from Arsenal. The Gabon international has been enjoying life in Barcelona since his move.

The former Gunners forward has been in sensational form with the La Liga giants, netting eight goals in his first eleven matches including his brace against Real Madrid. The Gabonese striker has left thoughts on fans questioning Arsenal’s decision of letting Aubumanyang leave the Fly Emirates without a penny been paid for the 30-year-old forward. It is no surprise to hear that everyone in Barcelona is delighted by the way Aubumanyang is settling with life in Spain despite joining the Catalans in late January.

Mikel Arteta has nothing to regret on Aubumanyang’s departure, backing his decision of letting the player leave in January. Even though, the 30-years-old striker has been reborn in Spain, Arteta feels it was the best decision letting Aubumanyang leave Arsenal.

Do Arsenal make a massive mistake by letting Aubumayang leave their club? Well, the simple answer is no. Arsenal made the right decision letting the 30-year-old forward join Barcelona for free. Aubumayang’s Arsenal struggles opened the door for an exit, in his last 40 games for Arsenal across all competitions, he failed to score in 28 of them. Aside that, those around him were also struggling to find the back of the net when he was the player at the head of Arteta’s attack. Arsenal has gone on from being one of the weakest epl team this season to competing for the top four after Pierre-emerick Aubumayang’s departure. Enough reason to justify Mikel Arteta transfer decision on the Gabon star.

The Gunners could secure Champion League football next season, a feet they couldn’t have achieved with Aubumayang on their frontier.

Arteta is delighted Aubumayang is finding his feet in the Spanish league after leaving Arsenal and he’s excited with his improvement. Speaking on whether there is anything to regret amidst Aubumayang departure, Arteta said:

“We wish him the best and we move on without any regrets”. He added: “I prefer to look at all the beautiful things and good times that we had together”.
