Karna Solskjær, daughter of former Manchester United boss, Ole Gunner Solskjær has debuted for Manchester United women at age 19.
Ole Gunner Solskjær played for Manchester United from 1996 to 2007 when he called a stop to his career in retirement. Ole came back to Manchester United as a manager in 2018 though he was sent packing after a continuous run of poor form in 2021.
Ole Gunner returned to Manchester United, this time to the stand where he watched his daughter, Karna as Manchester United Women took on Bridgwater United in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Man United women won the game 2-0 and progressed to the next round of the cup, thanks to Charlotte Buxton’s first-half own-goal and Ella Toone’s strike eight minutes from time.
Karna made her debut with the female team, coming in three minutes to the end of the match. Her debut makes Karna and Ole the first-ever father and daughter to play for Manchester United.
The 19-year-old striker joined the club in 2019 and has recently impressed the Under-21 side, leading to a promotion to Marc Skinner’s first-team squad.
Ole Gunner is currently without a club after being sent packing from Manchester United. The Norwegian has said he’s keen on coming back to coaching though he wants to spend more time with his family before returning to the touchline.
