A recent interview has seen Erling Haaland hit back at Trent-Alexander Arnold’s comments about City’s treble success in the just conceded season.

Liverpool and City face off in a hotly contested match this Sunday, with both teams hungry for a win.

Mind games have already started ahead of the mammoth clash with Alexander-Arnold launching a garb at Manchester City.
He made comments suggesting that Liverpool’s trophies in recent seasons mean more than those of Manchester City, citing the difference in the financial situation of the two clubs.

When asked about the subject, Haaland hit back at Trent-Alexander Arnold’s comments in no uncertain terms!. In an interview with Sky, Haaland said: “If he wants to say that, okay”.

“I’ve been here one year and I’ve won the treble and it was quite a nice feeling, I don’t think he knows exactly this feeling”.

It’s clear that he takes pride in the success of his team and doesn’t really care about the suggestion that Liverpool’s trophies are worth more.

Haaland’s teammate Ruben Dias has also responded to Alexander-Arnold comments. Speaking to BBC after Manchester City’s qualification for the UCL quarter final, he said :

“A Treble is a feeling that you only know how it feels when you actually do it!”.

“It’s pretty certain between us, between our fans, how much it meant for all of us”.

The game between the in form sides at the weekend is therefore finely poised. Both sides are first and second on the log with just a single point between them will be looking for one another’s scalp.

The winner of the clash will be the favorite to win the title, although there is the small matter of Arsenal profiting from any of the sides dropping points.

The Gunners have been firing on all cylinders since the turn of the year and posting unbelievable stats in the process. Arsenal stand to profit from whatever the outcome of the clash is.
