AllSoccer announced the breakup of Barcelona defender Gerard Pique and his wife Shakira after an 11-year relationship.
Since then, there has been numerous online memes targeted at the Spanish defender. Weirdly, Pique seems to enjoy them.
He liked one meme on Twitter from his account that directly made fun of his contribution to football.
A Twitter user 23lijk, an apparent Real Madrid fan, tweeted: “Someone said Shakira has done more for football than Pique ever will.” This referenced Shakira’s two World Cup songs Waka Waka (This time for Africa) and La La La (Brazil 2014).
Pique’s weird actions perhaps indicated that he has a bizarre self-deprecating humor or might be undergoing a depressive episode.
