Haaland’s Blistering start to life in English football sees him become the player with most goals in his first two seasons at an English club

Erling Haaland is the player with the most goals after first two seasons in an English club after earth shattering start to Man City career.

But who has he toppled with as many as 8 goals despite having one game left of the season?.

1. Erling Haaland

Player with the most goals after first two seasons

The Norwegian has been in imperious form for Mancunians since his arrival in 2022. He has proven to be nearly unstoppable at times. At least that is what it looked like in his first season. He appears to have slowed down this season but he is just nine short of last season’s total. With 36 and 27 respectfully he has obliterated Andy Cole’s record with a game to spare!.

2. Andy Cole

Andy Cole enjoyed an illustrious footballing career across many clubs in England. His spells at Newcastle and Manchester United is where he thrived the most. Cole bagged 55 goals in his first two seasons as a full professional in England. He also recorded 5 hat tricks during his playing days in English football.

Cole was the player with the most goals after first two seasons in an English club before the Norwegian machine came along.

3. Ruud Van Niistelroy

Player with the most goals after first two seasons

Van Niistelroy knew where the goal posts were and knew how to find the net. He played for some of the biggest sides in football including Real Madrid but only played for Manchester United in England.

In his five seasons and 150 appearances in England, Van Niistelroy bagged 95 goals, including 48 in his first two seasons.

4. Alan Shearer

Alan shearer is the Premier League’s record goal scorer with 260 goals. He amassed those goals scored across spells at Southampton, Blackburn and Newcastle. 33 of them were goals from the total 11 hat tricks he scored.

The fact will not be quite right if it is not mentioned that Shearer’s 47 goals came in his first two seasons at Blackburn. He started his career as Southampton and wasn’t quite as prolific as his time at Blackburn and Newcastle. This is despite missing a chunk of his first two seasons at Blackburn through injuries.

5. Kevin Phillips

Player with the most goals after first two seasons

To think that Phillips initially failed to make the cut at Southampton playing as a rightback and under the shadow of Alan shearer.

He made the move to Baldock and then to Watford and then to Sunderland where he burst into flames.

Kevin Phillips bagged 58 goals in his first two seasons, with 44 coming in the Premier League. For a striker as small as he, no one expected him to go on to win the Premier League and European Golden boot.
