Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have stopped the negotiations for a contract renewal with Lionel Messi as they look to tie Kylian Mbappe down with the club.

Lionel Messi will come to the end of his current contract with the French club in the summer. The club and Messi’s representatives which includes his father, Jorge Messi.

While both parties have failed to come to terms over a new contract for weeks, Paris Saint-Germain have now halted the negotiation process.

Tension of the French giant loosing key player, Kylian Mbappe to prospective clubs who are lurking around signing the 24-year-old, since their elimination from the Champions League.

Real Madrid have revived their interest in Mbappe and are exploring possible means to convince and bring him to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Paris Saint-Germain are now looking to convince Mbappe further on the project and plans of the club, feeding him basics on why he needs to trust the process and stay with the club.

Messi is linked with a possible return to Barcelona and he’s generating severe interest from the MLS. A contract extension is not rules out yet as it’s believe PSG will restart further negotiations.
