Ronaldo was made to replace injured Anthony Martial in the 29th minute and not long after, in the second half, had his name registered in the book of goal scorers.

Combining for the goal was his former teammate from Real Madrid, Casemiro who won a lost ball from Everton’s Alex Iwobi and gave a through ball to Ronaldo. Ronaldo had a brief run with the ball before firing past Jordan Pickford with his left leg.
