Former Chelsea player John Mikel Obi says Ronaldo is not among the top ten greatest in the Premier League.

The midfield lynchpin, one of Africa’s best midfielders ever, said this in an interview as per @football factly.

He said:

“Ronaldo better than Henry in EPL? No, Ronaldo is not even Top 10 Greatest in Premier League. Henry is much better in terms of Premier League.”

“There are many players like Henry, Hazard, Drogba, Salah, Lampard, Aguero, De Bruyne, Rooney, Giggs and many others that I would choose over Ronaldo when it comes to Premier League.”

Henry is regarded as one of the greatest players to have every played in the Premier League. Many also regard the Frenchman as Premier League’s greatest import along with Sergio Aguero.

Mikel went ahead to list as many as nine players, including Thierry Henry, that he would choose over Ronaldo, when it comes to the Premier League.

There can be very little arguments regarding the Nigerian’s stance about Ronaldo. This is considering that a haul of Ronaldo’s career achievements came during his time at Real Madrid.

His achievements at Manchester United cannot be frowned at however after moving to the club from Sporting Lisbon.

The Portuguese won the Premier League three times to Henry’s two in his time at Arsenal. Ronaldo also won the FA cup once to Henry’s two times.

Henry however consistently tore at Premier League defenses in his eight seasons at Arsenal, scoring 174 times. His goals came in 256 appearances for the North London club.

Ronaldo only managed 84 goals in 196 appearances by comparison. Arguments can however be made that he joined Manchester United much younger than Henry joined Arsenal.

There is no doubt that Ronaldo is one of the greatest players ever but his impact in the Premier League is not on the same level as Henry’s.

As for the debate that Ronaldo is not among the top ten greatest in the Premier League, that’s for every person to decide.
