Things that helped Sadio Mane earned the first ever Socrates award

Bayern Munich player, Sadio Mane yesterday became the first ever player in football history to win the Socrates award at the 66th Ballon d’OR award.

The award is a newly introduced award given to players who show the most humanitarian attributes in using there fortune in impacting their nations.

Mane has shown tremendous efforts in giving back to his community and has been the most talked about player regarding humanitarian service.

Hail from Bambali, a small village in Senegal, Mane was not born on bed of roses. The footballer formally said there were know good schools and most children were given birth to at home due to lack of hospitals.

Mane took a personal decision of doing does things he lacked access to while still living in Bambali and also extended it across other communities.

Here is a list of some of the major humanitarian services Sadio Mane did for his community that earned him the Socrates award.

◾️ Built a hospital worth €530,000.
