Syrian earthquake survivor, Rabea Shaheen fulfills dream of meeting Ronaldo

A 10-year-old survivor of the Turkey-Syria earthquake have fulfilled his long dream of meeting his football idol, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Rabea Shaheen got the media attention in an interview where he revealed his dream of meeting Cristiano Ronaldo moments after he was pulled out of the rubble of the earthquake. The video went viral and garnered over 2.3 million views.

His dreams finally came through after Chairman of General Entertainment Authority granted his wish and flew him to Riyadh where he met his idol and also watched him play.

Today my dream has come true,” Shaheen can be heard as saying in a 34-second video that Turki Al-Sheikh, chairman of the Kingdom’s General Entertainment Authority, tweeted.

“I love Ronaldo because he knows how to play football and I wish one day to play like him and train with Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr Club,” the 10-year-old added.

In the video that have been viewed over 6.1 million times, the overjoyed 10-year-old can be seen walking quickly toward Ronaldo, shaking hands with him and then hugging him, while saying “I love you.”

The Portuguese smiles and replies: “You are OK.”

I wish Al-Nassr wins,” Shaheen says near the end of the video.

Al-Sheikh tweeted:

Rabea Shaheen watched and cheered Ronaldo from the stands as he inspires Al Nassr to a 3-1 win over Al-Batin. He wore Al Nassr blue and yellow scarf and also held the club’s flag as he claps from the stands.
