French National team coach, Didier Deschamps and Karim Benzema are still in a loggerhead of war since the dispute that made the Real Madrid striker leave French World Cup camp in Qatar.

Deschamps made a recent claim of Benzema choosing to leave French camp willingly and him not been told to leave.

“Karim was hurt because this World Cup meant a lot to him… ‘He said to me, It’s over.’ Our doctor’s diagnosis matched the one we gave him in Madrid. At best, his return to training could not intervene before December 10… When I left him, I told him: ‘Karim, there is no urgency. You organize your return with the team manager.’ When I woke up, I learned that he was gone. It was his decision, he won’t tell you otherwise, I understand and respect it.”

Not long after Didier Deschamps claim, Benzema responded on his Instagram story, describing the French tactician with a clown emoji.

“The audacity of this ! The man in the video: “You lie, you’re a liar. Holy Didier. Goodnight.”

The rift between Benzema and his former national team manager doesn’t seem to be ending soon. Benzema have since quit the French national team.
