Brentford manager Thomas Frank says he “almost lost faith in the football god” following “most one sided draw” versus Manchester United

Brentford manager believes his sides 1-1 draw with Manchester United is the most one sided draw he has ever seen. In his post match interview, Thomas Frank says that he almost lost faith in the football god.

Brentford created all sorts of chances at the Gtech Community Stadium and constantly peppered Onana’s goal. They struck the woodwork FOUR times and recorded 31 total shots in the game but failed to score.

Toney and Co were all guilty of missing gilt-edged chances, enough to blow Manchester United away in the first half.

It looked like all their missed chances will come back to haunt them when Mount stabbed home on the 96th minute. There was a glaring look of disbelief in Thomas Frank’s face as the Manchester United players celebrated.

Ivan Toney and his teammates regained their composure to create two more opportunities in the next 3 minutes. They finally converted, in the 99th minute, to snatch a draw from the jaws of an agonizing defeat.

“How we didn’t win this game is incredible. It was the most one-sided 1-1 game. There should have been only one winner in the game, that could only be us. Then you go 1-0 down in the 96th minute and you think football is brutal. I almost lost faith in the football god but he gave a bit back.”

If there truly is a football god, he really left it late to come to misfiring Brentford’s aid.
