What happened

Eriksson put his charges through their paces and watched on as Torres rolled back the years. Torres scored some incredible goals in Liverpool training, including a goal with the outside of his boot from several yards out.

His goals would have left Darwin Nunez scratching his head. The Uruguayan has been accused of being wasteful in front of goal, although he has been prolific this season.

Looking ahead

Liverpool will not be able to count on Torres ahead of the season finale. After crashing out of the FA cup to Manchester United, their dreams of a quadruple went up in smoke.

They will hope they can get their hand on the PL title and the Europa league ahead of Klopp’s fair well.

They will certainly need Nunez fit and firing in the title run in if they are to pip Arsenal and City to the title. There are just ten games left of the league season after match week 28.
