UEFA asked to block Qatar Royal Family bid for Manchester United

UEFA have been asked to block all the Qatar Royal Family from taking over the ownership of Manchester United, using upholding the standards the Premier League as a reason.

Qatar Royal Family, Al Thani joined the race in acquiring Manchester United who was put up for sale by owners, The Glazers. The Qatari Royals are termed as the favorites to take over the Manchester United ownership with effect of their large wealth.

However, Premier League Chief executive Richard Masters has urged UEFA to prohibit the Qatari family. Standards of the League and how competitive it is paramount with Richards claiming, a takeover by the QSI will reduce the standards and competitiveness of the League. Using Paris Saint-Germain and Ligue 1 as a prime example.

Richards believes the competitiveness in Ligue 1 dropped drastically after the family took over ownership of Paris Saint-German and began investing heavily in top players which are bigger than what their average competitors can acquire, making them the controller of the league.

The PL executive believes the QSI can turn the league into a one team league. He have asked UEFA to prohibit the Qatari Royal Family from submitting a buy bid for Manchester United while they still hold ownership of Paris Saint-Germain.

Few days ago, the Qatari family showed their interest in acquiring Manchester United and are meant to face competition from other bidders who are also interested in owning the club.

The Glazers have fixed Friday February 18th for bid to be submitted by interested individuals or organizations who are willing to takeover ownership of the club. They rate the club at £6 billion.
