Real Madrid got an important win against Osasuna as they look to keep their title hopes alive. Again another controversy involving Vinicius Jr rocked the match, this time with the referee.
The Los Blancos team got two late goals from Federico Valverde and Marco Asensio to secure all three points. Real Madrid got increasingly frustrated with the officiating of the match and always get complaining to the referee. Even coach Carlo Ancelotti was seen showing his frustration to the fourth official.
In the first 45 minutes, Vinicius Jr was seen taunting at the referee after he got a blow to his face and nothing was done to penalise the player, instead Vinicius got a warning himself.
Vinicius angrily started speaking vehemently to the referee who might not have gotten what the player said clearly. According to reports from Sport Direct, Vinicius aimed at the referee and seriously insulted him, including calling him a “son of a B.”
Vinicius was subjected to insults all through the game with Osasuna supporters making vile comments targeted at the Brazilian. He was also tagged “Son of a B” during the one minute silence observed for victims of Turkey’s earthquake.
Vinicius Jr and Real Madrid will travel to Anfield in England as they look to start the journey of defending their Champions League title in the first leg of the Round of Sixteen.
